Story Writing in Scratch Jnr

We have been creating stories in Scratch Jnr. We have chosen 2 sprites and written the story in Scratch Jnr as well. We had to use coding blocks to make them move and to change the scene.

Under the Sea

Today we were learning how to use Scratch Jnr on our iPads.

Scratch is a coding app that we can use to be creative.

Today we made an underwater scene and added sprites.

We had to make our sprite move in a square.

We have done some computational thinking in class already on creating algorithms and today was a way of creating algorithms to make our sprite move. We had to test and debug lots to do this.

Some of us were able to make 2 sprites move and it looks like they are having a race.

Voice Typing on our iPads

This week we are learning how to use commas.

We had to make lists in Explain Everything and use commas to separate the items.

We used the microphone on our iPad keyboard to start voice typing. We have to speak clearly.

Cybersmart Lesson

This week in our Cybersmart lesson with Mrs Torrie we were learning 

how to download Explain Everything projects 

onto our iPad from the class site.

We did some leanring about the letter 'P', some dot-to-dot joining 

and following patterns.

Colossal Squid

Room 5 are studying the Colossal Squid.

We have found out lots of interesting things about them.

Today in Explain Everything we drew a colossal squid and added a background. Then we added clip art of drew other animals that the squid eat.

Today in our Cybersmart lesson we were learning how to record our voices.

We also had to remember how to take a photo and use the lasso tool to crop it.

Cybersmart with iPads

This week we started our Cybersmart work with Mrs Torrie.
We looked at a video about looking after our iPads.
It was like a safety briefing on an aeroplane.
We all knew about the hug hold and could show how to do it.

Explain Everything & iPads

This week our Cybersmart work with Mrs Torrie was to create an Explain Everything project 

with photos that we have taken and cropped.
