Under the Sea

Today we were learning how to use Scratch Jnr on our iPads.

Scratch is a coding app that we can use to be creative.

Today we made an underwater scene and added sprites.

We had to make our sprite move in a square.

We have done some computational thinking in class already on creating algorithms and today was a way of creating algorithms to make our sprite move. We had to test and debug lots to do this.

Some of us were able to make 2 sprites move and it looks like they are having a race.

Voice Typing on our iPads

This week we are learning how to use commas.

We had to make lists in Explain Everything and use commas to separate the items.

We used the microphone on our iPad keyboard to start voice typing. We have to speak clearly.

Matariki

Today in our Cybersmart lesson with Mrs Torrie we listened to the legend of "The 7 Fishes".

Then we did some learning about Matariki in Explain Everything.

We could choose which slides we wanted to work on by using the slide chooser.

Cybersmart Lesson

This week in our Cybersmart lesson with Mrs Torrie we were learning 

how to download Explain Everything projects 

onto our iPad from the class site.

We did some leanring about the letter 'P', some dot-to-dot joining 

and following patterns.

Colossal Squid

We are learning about Colossal Squid.

Today in Explain Everything we drew a submarine and then drew the propellors separately so we could set them to auto rotate. 

Unfortunately when we save our work the propellors don't spin.

Some of us drew an underwater drone that goes deep into the ocean 

to study deep sea animals.

Room 5 are studying the Colossal Squid.

We have found out lots of interesting things about them.

Today in Explain Everything we drew a colossal squid and added a background. Then we added clip art of drew other animals that the squid eat.
